Scorching Point!!

Over the last 3 years Great Britian has seen a potential star slowly but surely forfill his potential with solid release after solid release.
North London's scorcher has demonstrated that hard work really does pay off and 2009 is set to be his crowning year. The extremely talented new skool veteran has plans to release his full length debut LP entitled 'Concrete Jungle' on november 9th.
The first single released earlier this year 'I Know' already gave him momentum and made the public aware that something special was on its way.

Over the past few weeks he has released two singles in quick successsion. The first being 'Gangsta' a self produced street banger which will have true scorcher fans on cloud 9. The venomous nature of the track is self explainatory within the title.

The second single is set to take him to heights he has yet to reach in his career. the club smash 'Lipsin Ting' will be the crossover hit in what is already promising to be a diverse and exciting album.

2009 has already been a big year for uk black music, ladies and gentlemen it is about to get bigger!!!!

Compilations Galore!!!! - Who Said Grime is Dead?

There has been a lot of talk recently that Grime is a dying form of music and has passed it's best. i simply cannot agree with this statement because grime is only a new art-form which emerged in the new millennium and it has still got a long way to go before it is accepted into the mainstream as one of the core genres.

To me grime is basically a sub-genre of rap music, same way crunk and Hyphy are. with Grime crews up and down the country getting recognition and artists who emerged from the grime scene such as Wiley, Tinchy Stryder, Chipmunk, ironik and Bashy gaining chart success, it is only a matter of time before critics and man dem on road stop sayin Grime is dead simply because Giggs has emerged and to put it politely 'Everyones either cattin' his style or on his dick'.

Trust me i am a huge fan of Giggs but there is no use everyone stop spitting grime and start spitting slow rap simply because another artist is gaining mass exposure of the back of it. Giggs blew because he was unique, people cattin' Giggs wont blow because why would major labels want a copy when they've got the original? People need to stop watching other cats and have their own unique selling point or else the rap scene and the grime scene wont prosper.

Remember when Klashnekoff emerged from the hip-hop scene and everyone started rapping or when lethal B did Pow and everyone started having massive posse tracks? which one of the people that copied them can you actually say had success? NONE

Over the past few months key character's in the background of the Grime scene have been working together to dispel the myth that the grime scene is dead.

UK Runnings, HHB Radio and DJ Limelight have all been busy putting out mixtapes which promote the grime scene to the masses and continue to give the artists the exposure they deserve.

UK Runnings have released Grime Watch UK Volume 2 which is receiving mass acclaim.

HHB Radio have release 'Blood, Sweat & Grime' which features the cream of the crop in UK Grime.

DJ Limelight has teamed up with Ruthless Records and released 'Grime Theft Audio Vol 2' which is hosted by Double S.

All of the Compilations can be purchased at www.ukrecordshop.com as well as all good record stores around the country.

OG'z - 'Back Wid A Bang!!!'

For the last 2 years a grime collective from the south-side of the Thames have been taking the scene by storm and have now firmly cemented themselves at the forefront of the Grime Scene, the name of this crew are OG'z.

As a collective they are magnificent but i feel they truly shine when they embark on their own individual projects, this is displayed in the latest releases by Little Dee and P-Money.

Little Dee's release is entitled 'Once In A Blue' and is released on Eski-Beat Recordings and features the whole OG camp as well as production from Davinchi, Dot Rotten, Rudekid, Danny Weed and Maniac.

P-Money's release is entitled 'Money Over Everyone' and it features the likes of Wiley, Frisco, Lady L and again the whole OG'z camp. The Production comes in the forms of Crazee Bandit, Silencer, Rudekid and Maniac.

Both of these releases are available from www.ukrecordshop.com from september 2009.
